New Releases for 6/15/11

DMP and their BL titles dominate the list this week, something that doesn’t happen very often. But if BL isn’t your thing, Seven Seas releases their next new title while Viz brings out some Shonen Sunday titles. Or you can go in the complete opposite direction and pick up Strawberry Panic the Complete Novel Collection from Seven Seas for some Yuri fun.

Bad Teachers Equation Volume 1 GN, $19.95
Blue Sheep Reverie Volume 4 GN, $12.95

Butterfly Of The Distant Day GN, $12.95
Kizuna Volume 3 GN (Deluxe Edition), $19.95
Men Of Tattoos GN, $12.95
Rabbit Man Tiger Man Volume 1 GN, $12.95 **Weekly Pick**

SEVEN SEAS ENTERTAINMENT
Amnesia Labyrinth Volume 2 GN, $10.99 **Weekly PIck**
Certain Scientific Railgun Volume 1 GN, $10.99
Strawberry Panic The Complete Novel Collection SC (One Shot), $14.99

VIZ MEDIA
Arata The Legend Volume 6 TP, $9.99
Detroit Metal City Volume 9 TP , $12.99
Kekkaishi Volume 26 GN, $9.99

The Picks:

Justin’s Pick: There’s a metric ton of yaoi coming this week from DMP, but the most interesting one of the lot is Rabbit Man Tiger Man, a high-concept yakuza/mistaken identity/Florence Nightengale comedy of errors that holds some promise. If that’s not your thing, then I don’t know what to suggest. I’ve been burned by titles that I picked up based purely on premise (Go West! anyone?), but Certain Scientific Railgun v1 sounds fun. Maybe the set-up reminds me a little of Jill Tamaki’s wonderful SuperMutant Academy webcomic blog.

Amy’s Pick: Men of Tattoos is finally being released this week! I’m tempted by the Strawberry Panic novel collection but DMP’s releases this week mainly by the amount of delicious yaoi coming out in a single week.

Lori’s Pick: I’m interested in reading Certain Scientific Railgun from Seven Seas, but it’s the second volume of Amnesia Labyrinth that makes my pick this week. I had issues with the first volume, but the mystery presented outweighed them, so I’m looking forward to what will be revealed in this volume!
